Blue Note Records By 1927, Louis Armstrong had recorded an astounding forty records for Columbia Records. However frustrated he'd become with his label, there was no denying that Louis was on his way to becoming an international jazz legend. Although his output on the label had been prolific, it was still technically his first "real" album. The title track of Blue Record is named for George Gershwin's jazz standard of the day, "I Got Rhythm". Louis was both a brilliant musician and a passionate jazz fan, and Blue Record is one of his finest recordings. The album’s twelve tracks contain some of Louis Armstrong’s most famous solos, including “Struttin’ with Some Barbecue” and “Georgia on My Mind".
